YEREVAN, September 14. /ARKA/. Armenia’s ambassador to Belgium Tatoul Margaryan met Tuesday with Jean-Arthur Régibeau, Director General for Multilateral Affairs and Globalization of the Ministry of Foreign Affair of Belgium to discuss a number of issues concerning the expansion of the Armenian-Belgian cooperation, Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
It said among other issues, the two men spoke about the opening of direct flights between Brussels and Yerevan.
Jean-Arthur Régibeau was said to have handed Margaryan the application of the Civil Aviation Department of Belgium, according to which the right to carry out flights from Brussels to Yerevan is awarded to Brussels Airlines airline.
The senior Belgian diplomat thanked the ambassador for the initiative to open flights between Brussels and Yerevan, as well as for intensive work with various government agencies and the Brussels Airlines to this end.
During the meeting an agreement was reached on launching the flights in the current year and to increase the frequency of flights, if necessary next year. -0-
