Le Fonds Arménien de France a appris hier, avec consternation, l’arrestation du directeur exécutif du Fonds Arménien Hayasdan (Himnadram), Ara Vardanian, survenue le 2 juillet 2018 à Erevan. Le Service de sécurité nationale (SSN) d’Arménie le soupçonne de s’être « approprié » des sommes et d’avoir « abusé » de sa position, en s’étant servi d’une carte bancaire qui bénéficie d’une ligne de crédit du Himnadram pour des « buts personnels », y compris pour parier sur des sites de jeux en ligne.

On 21 June 2018 the European Union and Armenia held the first meeting of the Partnership Council under the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which was signed on 24 November 2017 and entered into provisional application on 1 June 2018.
The Council is the highest body established under the CEPA to supervise the implementation of the Agreement and to discuss issues of mutual interest. Armenia and the EU expressed their willingness to expand and deepen cooperation within the framework of this new legal basis, the Eastern Partnership and the reviewed European Neighbourhood Policy. The Partnership Council welcomed the peaceful nature of the recent protests in Armenia, which led to a democratic change of government in accordance with the Constitutional framework.

Today, in their office in Brussels, European Friends of Armenia (EuFoA) hosted an exclusive briefing on EU-Armenia relations with EU Ambassador to Armenia Piotr Świtalski. The briefing, which took place against the background of the recent signing of the EU-Armenia Partnership Priorities, was moderated by Diogo Pinto, Director of EuFoA, and attended by over 40 representatives of the EU institutions, diplomatic corps, international NGOs, research community, and media.

Brussels, 21 February 2018 - The European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy (EAFJD) states that Azerbaijan’s request to Interpol for international arrest warrant against the EAFJD President Kaspar Karampetian lacks any legal basis and is certain to be rejected by Interpol.
Interpol has already dismissed similar requests of Azerbaijan in the recent past since they are clearly politically motivated and are vain attempts of the Azerbaijani State to impose the will of the Aliyev regime on international community.

Le président Emmanuel Macron s'est engagé mardi 30 janvier 2018, lors du dîner annuel du Conseil de coordination des organisations arméniennes de France (CCAF), à faire inscrire au calendrier une Journée de commémoration du génocide arménien. C'était l'une de ses promesses de campagne.
